Echo Split

Echo Split is a puzzle game built on a mechanic I haven't seen anywhere else: you can shed a stationary "echo" of yourself that stays put and keeps holding whatever tile it was created on. Pressure plates need to be held at the same time, but one body can only stand in one place — so you split. Each echo you leave behind permanently holds its tile, while your active self returns to the spawn to keep moving. Hold every plate with echoes, then walk your active self onto the exit to solve the level.

How to Play

Move with arrow keys / WASD (or the on-screen D-pad on mobile). Walk onto an orange pressure plate and press Space (or tap "Split Echo") to leave a clone holding that plate; your active self teleports back to the green spawn. Repeat until every plate glows green, then step onto the exit door. You have a limited number of echoes per level, so plan your splits.

Tips & Strategies

Scout the whole level before your first split — once an echo is placed it never moves, so a badly-placed echo wastes a clone. Count the plates: you need one echo per plate you can't stand on yourself at the end. Save your last echo for flexibility; your active self can hold one plate only if it's on the way to the exit, which is rarely useful. When stuck, Reset is free — experimenting costs nothing.
